The Honourable Member of Parliament for Tema East, Ashai Odamtten, on Sunday, October 12, demonstrated his continuous commitment to education by supporting 800 students as they transition from Junior High School (JHS) to Senior High School (SHS).

The event, held amidst heavy rains, marked the successful launch of the first phase of his 5th annual #Back2School initiative.

The MP personally ensured that 800 day students and boarders were equipped with essential items to facilitate a smooth and successful start to their secondary education.

Day students received brand new backpacks filled with exercise books, pens, pencils, mathematical sets, and other crucial academic materials while boarding students were presented with trunks and chop boxes containing a wide array of provisions, buckets, toiletries, and other necessities for school.

Also in attendance was Mr. Richster Amarh Amarfio, Vice President of the National Fisheries Association of Ghana (NAFAG).

In his address, Hon. Ashai Odamtten emphasized the importance of investing in the future of the youth.

“Nothing could dampen our spirits or our resolve to ensure that our children are well-prepared for this critical next step in their academic journey. Investing in their education is an investment in the very future of Tema East and our nation as a whole,” he stated.

He further commended the parents and guardians for their support and encouraged the students to take their studies seriously.

“To the 800 students here today, these items are a token of our belief in your potential. I charge you to go to your various schools with determination and focus. Make us proud,” the MP urged.

The #Back2School initiative is a flagship program of Hon. Ashai Odamtten, designed to alleviate the financial burden on parents and motivate students from the constituency to pursue higher education.
