President John Dramani Mahama has approved a number of appointments and reassignments as part of a reorganisation of the National Security Council Secretariat.
The changes, announced by the Presidency on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, affect key positions within the National Security architecture and take immediate effect.
Under the new arrangement, Major (Rtd.) General William Ayamdo, a former Chief of Army Staff, has been appointed Deputy National Security Coordinator (Operations).
Former National Security Coordinator, Yaw Donkor, has also been reassigned and appointed Director of Intelligence and Research at the Office of the National Security Advisor.
Other appointments include Adamu Saaka, who has been named Director of Logistics and Transport, while Faustina Effah-Boadi has been appointed Officer in Charge of the Human Security Department.
In addition, DCOP (Rtd.) Peter Ndekugri has been appointed Officer in Charge of the Special Investigations Unit.
Meanwhile, ACP Alhassan Osman has been reassigned to the Ghana Police Service for further deployment.
The Presidency said the appointments and reassignments form part of efforts to reorganise the National Security Council Secretariat.
All the changes take immediate effect.
