Dr Michael Boadi Nyamekye Remains Abroad as EOCO Investigates Alleged Links to Napo

Founder and General Overseer of Makers House Chapel International, Dr Michael Boadi Nyamekye, has reportedly remained in the United States for more than a year, raising questions among members of his congregation about his prolonged absence from Ghana.

According to reports, the Dome-based church has been under the leadership of a junior pastor, Nii Armah, since Dr Nyamekye quietly left the country. Church members are said to have received little information regarding when their founder intends to return.

The pastor’s extended stay abroad has attracted public attention following reports that the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) is investigating matters that allegedly connect him to former Energy and Education Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo.

Sources claim EOCO has sought to question Dr Nyamekye as part of ongoing investigations. The pastor has publicly acknowledged being invited by security agencies and being the subject of investigations, although no specific offence has been publicly disclosed.

Reports further allege that investigators are examining claims that assets linked to the former minister were placed in the custody of the pastor. These claims, however, have not been officially confirmed by EOCO.

Dr Nyamekye and Napo are known to share a close relationship, with the pastor having officiated the former minister’s marriage ceremony in 2023.

Despite growing public interest in the matter, EOCO has not issued any official statement on the status of its investigations or whether Dr Nyamekye will be invited for questioning upon his return to Ghana.

For now, the respected preacher remains in the United States while his church continues its activities in Ghana under interim leadership, leaving many questions unanswered about his future plans and the ongoing investigations.
