Nii Lantey Vanderpuye Resigns as DRIP National Coordinator

Former Member of Parliament for Odododiodio and National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has officially resigned from his position to pursue a National Executive role within the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a statement released on Thursday, Vanderpuye said his decision followed “careful reflection” and was aimed at enabling him to seek a leadership position within the party.

“After careful reflection, I have taken the decision to step down from my position as National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP),” he stated.

Vanderpuye expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the opportunity to serve in the role and contribute to the implementation of the DRIP initiative, which focuses on improving local road infrastructure across the country.

“It has been a great honour and privilege to serve His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana in this role. I am deeply grateful for the confidence reposed in me and for the opportunity to contribute to a programme that is transforming local infrastructure and improving lives across our communities,” he said.

According to him, his resignation is motivated by a desire to continue serving both the NDC and the country in a different capacity.

“My resignation is to enable me pursue a National Executive position within our great party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This decision is driven by my desire to continue serving our party and country in a different capacity, while contributing to the strengthening of our democratic traditions and institutions,” the statement added.

The former DRIP coordinator reaffirmed his commitment to President Mahama’s vision and the ideals of the NDC, stressing that he remains optimistic about the future of the road improvement programme.

“I remain fully committed to the vision of President Mahama, the success of his administration, and the ideals of the NDC. I leave office with immense gratitude, proud of the work we have accomplished together and optimistic about the future of DRIP,” he noted.

Vanderpuye concluded by wishing the nation well and calling for continued dedication to national service.

“May God continue to bless Ghana and guide us all in our collective service to the nation.”
