I Have Done a Lot to Deserve That Recognition – Linda Ocloo

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has defended her recognition as Best Regional Minister, insisting that her work in the region merits the award despite criticism from some quarters.

Speaking in an interview on Asaase Radio, Linda Ocloo said she was not surprised by the honour, stressing that she has made significant contributions to the development of Greater Accra since assuming office.

“I wasn’t surprised by the award I received. I keep telling people that when the little effort you put in is recognised, it empowers you to do more. For me, I know I have done a lot for the good people of Greater Accra,” she said.

She acknowledged that residents have high expectations of her administration but maintained that her achievements justify the recognition.

“I understand expectations are high, but I think I have done a lot that deserves that recognition,” she added.

Linda Ocloo was named Best Regional Minister at the 6th Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Awards held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Labadi Beach Hotel.

The event brought together government officials, traditional leaders and other stakeholders to celebrate what organisers described as excellence in public service and leadership. The awards recognised ministers and public officials across various sectors for their contributions to governance and national development.

According to organisers, the initiative seeks to highlight impactful leadership and encourage higher standards of performance in public office.
