I don’t care what they do – Prof. Frimpong-Boateng reacts to NPP expulsion

Former Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has dismissed the New Patriotic Party’s move to expel him.

According to him, he is yet to receive any official communication from the party and remains unmoved by the actions announced by the General Secretary.

Speaking on Asempa FM and monitored by NewsDeskGH, Professor Frimpong-Boateng said somebody brought him the statement from the General Secretary, whom he has never met.

“I am waiting for official communication,” he said.

He made it clear that the party’s decision does not bother him.

“I don’t care what they do,” he said.

Professor Frimpong-Boateng also stood by his earlier description of the New Patriotic Party as a “fake party,” questioning the processes leading to the decision to initiate his expulsion.

“If he wasn’t fake, how could he say we had a program from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM and then, at almost 6:00 AM, issue a statement that the NEC has decided to remove someone from the party?”

He further rejected any suggestion that he intends to leave the New Patriotic Party, insisting that the problem lies with the current leadership, not him.

“I will not leave the party. They are the ones that are fake, they should go, the true party will stand.”

The comments follow a statement issued on January 13, 2026, by the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, announcing that the party had initiated formal processes to expel Professor Frimpong-Boateng.

The decision, according to the General Secretary, followed an earlier interview in which Prof. Frimpong-Boateng described the NPP as a “fake party” and alleged that the party’s 2023 presidential primary was rigged.

The NPP firmly denied these claims.
