Leader of Government Business in Parliament, Mahama Ayariga has urged Suspended Chief Justice, Gertrude Torkornoo to respect the constitutional procedures regarding her removal, questioning her silence during her appointment.
According to Mahama Ayariga, suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo cannot enjoy the perks that comes with being a leader of the Judiciary as mandated by the Constitution and not respect the process regarding her removal.
The Majority Leader said he has paid attention to the entire process and no one has been able to argue that the process is unconstitutional or a part of the process goes contrary to what the Constitutions demands.
“It comes as a package, the Constitution creates the office of the Chief Justice and provides the procedures which you can be removed so you can’t enjoyed the perks and not respect the process for your removal.”
“The President has done nothing wrong in this process, he is just following the law and some of the petitions were even sent under the previous President (Akufo-Addo),” Mahama Ayariga said.
