Security and Intelligence consultant, Richard Kumadoe has said that the security agencies are not obliged to invite suspects when a crime is committed.
According to Richard Kumadoe, the media should stop the narrative that the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) should have invited Chairman Wontumi for questions and not arrest him.
Richard Kumadoe in an interview with UTV on Friday, May 30, 2025, said there is nothing like invitation when a crime is committed because it doesn’t happen anywhere in the world.
“Senior journalists like you should stop that because there is nothing like invitation when a crime is committed. The security agencies can arrest you anywhere in the country if they believe that you have committed a crime.”
“The FBI, Homeland Security or MI6 in the UK will not invite you for questions if they have evidence to suggest that a crime has been committed so we should stop pushing that narrative in this country,” Richard Kumadoe said.
Chairman Wontumi is under investigation by EOCO over alleged financial improprieties.
