Majority Chip Whip, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has criticized the Economic and Organized Crime (EOCO) for their reported Rambo style arrest of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
Chairman Wontumi was arrested by EOCO on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, after his visit to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
Reacting to the arrest of Chairman Wontumi, Rockson Dafeamekpor in an interview on Joy News’ PM Express criticized the arresting officers for their Rambo style arrest.
Rockson Dafeamekpor argued that EOCO could have calmly invited him for questions about the crimes against him because these Rambo styles tarnishes the image of the government.
“If the gentleman has questions to answer, they could have simply invited him for questions and if he refused, use the law to get him because these things tarnishes the image of the government,” Rockson Dafeamekpor said on Joy News.
