Why can football players celebrate LGBTQ+ but not their love for Jesus? Emmanuel Annor asks GFA

Nations FC forward, Emmanuel Annor has reacted to his fine by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association for displaying religious message on undershirt after removing his jersey for a goal celebration.

Annor wondered why It is allowed for players to celebrate LGBTQ+ but get punished when they display their religious affiliations or love for Jesus Christ.

“Why can football players celebrate LGBTQ+ sexuality but not their love for Jesus?

Romans 14:8 – If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. It’s the kingdom work on the pitch!” Annor statement read.

Below is GFA’s statement fining Emmanuel Annor GH₵500 for displaying ‘I Love You Jesus on his undershirt to celebrate a goal in a Ghana Premier League game against Kotoko.

“Nations FC player Emmanuel Annor has been fined GH₵500 by the Disciplinary Committee for misconduct during their Ghana Premier League game against Asante Kotoko.”

“The Player was found guilty of displaying a religious message on his undergarment after removing his shirt in celebration. He has also been strongly warned that any further misconduct will result in severe sanctions”
