Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has admitted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) made mistakes during its time in government and has appealed to Ghanaians for forgiveness.
Dr. Bawumia made these remarks during his just-concluded three-day campaign tour of the Ashanti Region, held from September 10 to 12, 2025, as part of efforts to rally support ahead of the NPP’s presidential primary.
Addressing the citizens, Bawumia said he is aware that as a government and as a party, they had all made several mistakes while in power.
According to him, there were things they should have done but did not, and there were also things they did which they should not have.
“We were all part of it, Vice President, Ministers, MP’s, Board Chairmen, appointee’s; we have all made mistakes,” he said in Twi.
Dr. Bawumia however pleaded with the people to forgive them as they have learnt their lessons.
He further vowed that if given the chance to serve as president of Ghana, such mistakes will not be repeated again.
