Member of Parliament for the Assin South Constituency, Rev. Ntim Fordjour has said that Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo committed no offence by traveling with his family on the account of the State.
Ntim Fordjour who is adding his voice to the conversation about the petition against Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo and his subsequent suspension by president John Dramani Mahama said there is nothing inappropriate about she traveling with her family if her official duties require it.
He emphasized that, as the head of an arm of government, the Chief Justice is entitled to certain privileges.
Ntim Fordjour further questioned why it would be an issue, noting that if the President can travel with his son, the Chief Justice should also be allowed to do the same.
President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo after setting up a committee to probe into allegations against her.
