The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Professor Ransford Gyampo has said that the suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo should not be given any preferential treatment.
According to Professor Ransford Gyampo, Gertrude Torkornoo is not above the laws in this country and should be treated like every other Ghanaian if she has committed an offense or a crime in the impending case against her.
Speaking on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, May 31, 2025, Gyampo he stated emphatically that Madam Gertrude Torkornoo is not above the law.
“If she is wrong, the law must act; if she is not, the law must act. Araba is not above the laws of Ghana,” Prof Gyampo said.
He also criticized the Ghana Bar Association for losing their voice under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and mysteriously finding their voice under president John Dramani Mahama.
“Do we really have a Bar Association in Ghana? Why do they keep quiet when the NPP is in power but want to be heard when the NDC is in government ?
