Stop the favoritism in your selection for goalkeepers – Bechem United coach tells Black Stars coach

Assistant coach of Bechem United, Seth Osei ‘Wire’ has said that goalkeepers who play for smaller clubs in the Ghana Premier League are often overlooked by national team coaches.

According to Seth Osei, national team coaches especially the Black Stars have often favoured only goalkeepers who play for either Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko for call ups and that needs to stop.

He urged the national team coaches to put an end to this favoritism that has gone on for years because it discourages the other players in the league from giving their best.

“Keepers who don’t play for the top teams are usually overlooked for national team call ups, but that’s not right.”

“Even if a player plays for a lower division side and the player is good, I believe they should be selected for the national team,” Coach Seth Osei said.
