The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has settled the salary arrears owed to former Black Stars coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor and his assistant coach, David Duncan.
CK Akonnor who was sacked from his position as the Black Stars coach in September 2021 was still owed salaries and unpaid bonuses.
However, after months of back and forth, CK has been paid after the Sports Ministry cleared all outstanding salary arrears owed to current and former Black Stars coaches.
CK Akonnor assistant in the Black Stars, David Duncan, received $40,000, although he is reportedly still due some amount.
Akonnor reign was cut short due to a bad start in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers despite qualifying the Black Stars to the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
