No Salary for 4 Months: Mahama sanctions appointees who defaulted on asset declaration

President John Dramani Mahama has sanctioned appointees who have defaulted on the asset declaration as instructed by president.

Political appointees were given up to March 31, 2025, to declare their assets with the office of the Auditor General by president John Dramani Mahama.

However, some appointees according to a publication by the Fourth Estate defaulted and didn’t declare their assets like the president had instructed.

According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in Charge of Communication, the appointees who defaulted on the directive have been sanctioned and will forfeit their four months salaries.

President Mahama sanctions appointees who defaulted on Asset declaration by 31st March. They are to forfeit 4months salary and donate same to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund,” Felix Kwakye Ofosu posted on his X page on Monday, May 5, 2025.
