Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for fixing all the challenges the administration inherited.
According to the Minister, all the problems handed over to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government by the previous government is being tacklers, even football.
Speaking at the Presidential Investment Forum in Beijing, China, on October 14, Okudzeto Ablakwa commended the President’s performance across various sectors in the country.
“Since assuming the Presidency, he’s fixing all the problems he inherited,” he said.
“He’s fixed the economy, he will give details of that. He’s fixed education, he’s fixed health care, he is fixing infrastructure.”
He added that President Mahama’s achievements even go as far as sports, highlighting Ghana’s recent qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“Only a few days ago he’s also fixed our football. Ghana has qualified for the World Cup,” he said, drawing applause from the audience.
“The visionary, problem-solving President John Mahama is not sparing any sector of national development,” the Minister stressed.
Mr. Ablakwa also highlighted the strong relationship between Ghana and China, noting that President Mahama earlier that morning met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to him, in that meeting President Xi expressed confidence in President Mahama.
“President Xi said that in President Mahama he can trust him to protect all legitimate Chinese businesses,” Mr. Ablakwa stated.
He further said that the assurance from the Chinese leader should inspire confidence among investors as well.
“Your own President, and undoubtedly the leader of the Global South, has stamped his approval that you can invest in Ghana and your investments will be safe,” he said.
