The Parliamentary Service of Ghana is set to host the second edition of the annual Democracy Cup match in August 2025. This follows the success of the first edition held at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 17, 2024, where Asante Kotoko emerged victorious against Accra Hearts of Oak.
The launch of the one-off football competition will take place on July 24, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Justice D. F. Annan Auditorium in the Parliament House. The event, which will be chaired by the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, will serve as a platform for announcing the two competing teams for this year’s match.
The Democracy Cup is an initiative of the Parliament of Ghana aimed at promoting football in the country. The first edition was a huge success, and the second edition promises to be just as exciting.
“We are excited to launch the second edition of the Democracy Cup,” said David Sebastian Damoah, Director of the Media Relations Department at the Parliamentary Service. “This year’s match promises loads of excitement and surprises. Watch the space for more updates.”
