Over 100 Women Benefit from Cervical Cancer Screening at Ussher Hospital

More than 100 women received free cervical cancer screening at Ussher Hospital in Jamestown during the launch of the Protect Your Pearl project.

The initiative, led by the Rotary Club of Accra-East in partnership with the Rotary Club of Eau Claire, USA, aims to raise awareness about cervical cancer—one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women in Ghana.

The project is supported by 54 Rotary Clubs, three Rotaract Clubs, and one Interact Club. It also collaborates with the Cervical Cancer Prevention and Training Centre (CCCPT) at the Catholic Hospital of Battor to promote early detection and prevention of the disease.

“Cervical cancer remains a silent threat, claiming many lives. However, it is highly preventable and treatable if detected early,” the organizers emphasized.
