NDC will lose 2028 elections because they will present a new candidate – Dr. Bawumia

Former Vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has predicted victory for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the ruling National Democratic Congress in the 2028 Presidential elections.

According to Dr. Bawumia who led the NPP into the 2024 elections defeat, the NDC will lose the elections because president John Dramani Mahama will not be able to contest after serving two terms of four years.

He said the NPP will have the advantage because NDC will present a new candidate in 2028 and historically, it is difficult for first time candidates to win elections in Ghana.

“NPP will win the 2028 elections because the NDC will be presenting a first time presidential candidate and it is difficult for first time candidates to win elections in Ghana,” Dr. Bawumia said.

He also apologized to NPP members for their embarrassing defeat in the 2024 elections.

“The NPP did a lot of work, there’s no doubt about that, but we did not get everything right. We got quite a few things wrong, and I think that, on my own behalf and on behalf of the party, I apologize to all of you for us not getting the figures right,” he stated.
