Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif has responded to the allegations by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine that he was involved in the national service ghost names scandal.
Dr. Dominic Ayine at a press conference on Friday, June 13, 2025, announced that he will be charging Mustapha Ussif and 8 others for their involvement in the national service ghost names scandal which cost the country GH₵548 million.
Reacting to this, Mustapha Ussif has denied any wrongdoing during his time at National Service Secretariat saying that he served with integrity during his tenure as the Executive Director of the National Service Scheme by president, Nana Akufo-Addo during the first term of his government.
The Member of Parliament for the Yagaba-Kubori Constituency in the North East Region of Ghana said he’s ready to account for his tenure “in any competent jurisdiction” & urges calm.
