Deputy Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, James Gyakye Quayson, has extended heartfelt appreciation to all who supported him before and during his successful vetting by Parliament on Friday, July 25, 2025.
In a statement released shortly after the vetting, Mr. Quayson thanked President John Dramani Mahama, for the confidence reposed in him.
“I am profoundly grateful to H.E. John Dramani Mahama for the trust and honour bestowed upon me to serve in his government,” he stated. “I accept this call to serve with humility, duty, and unwavering dedication to the national interest.”
He also acknowledged the invaluable support he received from traditional authorities, political party leadership, and his constituents.
“I also wish to thank my distinguished Chiefs and Queen Mothers, party executives, my colleague MPs, my dependable family, and the supportive good people of Assin North who traveled to Accra to offer their unflinching support,” Mr. Quayson said. “I am equally grateful to members of the Ghanaian diaspora from across the globe who stood by me in solidarity.”
Mr. Quayson expressed special gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly the Minister, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for his mentorship and guidance.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional support and strategic briefings I received from him and all the Directors of the Ministry’s key bureaus,” he noted. “The Minister’s guidance has prepared me to hit the ground running.”
Looking ahead, the Assin North MP reaffirmed his readiness to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s foreign affairs agenda.
“I reaffirm my commitment to strengthening Ghana’s engagement with its diaspora, fostering strategic partnerships, and advancing national development through inclusive diplomacy,” he concluded.
