President John Dramani Mahama has warned his Ministers of State that he expects them to produce good results and not complaints because they are well aware of the problems in the country.
According to president Mahama, the Ministers were appointed to deliver results to Ghanaians and not to come and complain because he is not going to accept that from any of his appointees.
“You were not appointed to occupy space. You were appointed to solve problems,” President Mahama declared, urging his ministers to deliver results without excuses when speaking at the opening of a four-day Executive Leadership Programme on April 24, 2025.
The retreat, organized in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aims to reshape leadership thinking and foster a collective commitment to service.
President Mahama described the event as a turning point, calling for the abandonment of outdated governance models.
“The business-as-usual approach will not work. Indeed, it is dead and we must bury it once and for all”.
The President further appealed to his ministers’ sense of duty, highlighting the rising expectations of Ghanaians, particularly the youth, farmers, and small business owners.
“Our young people are tired of waiting interminably. Our farmers, our workers, our entrepreneurs… want to live in dignity and prosperity”.
