Byran Acheampong, the Member of Parliament of Abetifi constituency in the Eastern Region has confirmed that he has provided the sureties needed for the bail for the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
According to Byran Acheampong, the sureties for the bail of Chairman Wontumi have all been verified by The Economic and Organised Crime Office and will soon release suspect on bail.
The Abetefi MP made this statement confirmation while stressing that Rock City hotel, the company that put in a bid to purchase the 60 percent shares of some four Hotels owned by the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) was not used as part of the properties for the sureties to release Wontumi on bail.
“I have offered the properties and everything should be fine from now on because we are now going through the formalities. They just finished the inspection of the properties, they will check the value and we are good to go.”
“I gave some houses to be used as sureties but Rock City Hotel is not part. I don’t know what you call rich but I can say I’m comfortable,” Byran Acheampong said.
