I commend you for your maturity during regional elections – GJA President to Ashanti members

President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has praised members of the Association in the Ashanti Region for the maturity they displayed during the recent regional elections.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Ashanti Regional Executives of the GJA on Thursday, September 4, Mr. Dwumfour said the patience and commitment shown by members is a reflection of their dedication to the Association’s progress”.

“I want to begin by commending all our members for your patience and for the maturity with which you have put the issues surrounding the recent regional election behind you,” he expressed.

Adding, “Your commitment to the GJA is truly admirable, and it is a testament to the fact that our common goal, which is seeing the progress of our association, is far more important than any individual differences.”

He described the swearing-in ceremony as the beginning of a new chapter for the Ashanti regional branch of the GJA.

“Today is a new chapter for the GJA in the Ashanti Region. It is a day to forge ahead in unity and to work tirelessly together for the advancement of our great profession,” he noted.

Mr. Dwumfour further congratulated the new executives, encouraging them to be innovative, bold, and proactive in carrying out their mandate to improve the welfare and professionalism of journalists in the region.

“Kofi, Nicholas, Beatrice, Dr. Neta, you have been entrusted with a crucial mandate: to champion the welfare, safety, and professionalism of our members while also contributing to the broader development efforts of this region and beyond,” said the GJA President.

The ceremeny took place at the RCC Conference Room in the Ashanti Region.
