‘Give Fidelity to the Constitution’ — Fuseini Weighs in on OSP Controversy

Former Tamale Central MP, Inusah Fuseini, has urged restraint and constitutional fidelity following the dismissal of petitions seeking the removal of the heads of the Electoral Commission and the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

His comments come after the Chief Justice threw out the petitions, ruling that they failed to establish a prima facie case to warrant further action.

Reacting on Newsfile on Saturday, February 21, Mr Fuseini made it clear that attempts to derail the Special Prosecutor without compelling justification could undermine constitutional governance.

According to him, the Office of the Special Prosecutor must be allowed to function independently unless there is clear evidence of constitutional breaches.

“My position on the OSP is simple — let him do his work. Unless there are grievous violations, particularly of Section 15, I do not see any basis for alarm,” he stated.

While acknowledging that private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu had spoken strongly about his petition, Mr Fuseini stressed that he had neither reviewed the document nor felt compelled to do so.
