Many people on social media are criticizing what they say are extremely high prices of hotels and rental accommodation in Ghana.
According to them, it is poor value for money as they say the standards of hotels and rental units do not even match the prices attached to them.
Others are also arguing that similar amounts can secure far better accommodation in other African countries and abroad.
Some Ghanaians said the situation reflects what they believe is growing “greed” within parts of the hospitality and housing sectors.
The concerns have renewed calls for government to invest in affordable housing units and regulate exploitative rental practices.
