A deadly accident on the Bolgatanga-Walewale highway has left eight people dead and many others severely injured. The incident occurred on Friday, February 28, 2025, in the farming community of Karimenga.
According to reports, the tragedy unfolded when a bus traveling from Kumasi to Bolgatanga collided with a container truck that was parked along the roadside. The force of the impact resulted in the immediate deaths of eight passengers, with several others suffering serious injuries.
Local residents, assisted by officers from the Ghana National Fire Service, quickly rushed to the scene to help rescue the injured. The victims were transported to the Upper East Regional Hospital in Bolgatanga for urgent medical attention.
Five passengers were trapped inside the wreckage and had to be carefully extricated by rescuers. In a heartbreaking discovery, three unidentified legs were found at the crash site.
