Ecobank Ghana has invested an amount of GHS500,000 into an expanded and fully equipped Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Centre at Dawhenya.
The donation forms part of the third edition of Ecobank’s “Mega Project,” an initiative that focuses on Mother and Child.
Delivering a speech at the employee voluntarism day, Executive Director and Regional Head of Consumer Banking at Ecobank, Tara Squire, said the bank has a tradition of supporting communities through donations and engagement in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.
He explained that each year, Ecobank employees contribute to support institutions in underserved regions, while the bank matches staff contributions as part of its broader CSR programme.

“The collective efforts of our team have ensured that the name and colours of Ecobank are proudly represented here, as we join hands to champion a noble cause. We have invested approximately GHS500,000 to reconstruct and equip this facility.”
He further urged the management and staff of the centre to make good use of the expanded facility to ensure residents of Dawhenya and surrounding communities fully benefit from it.
“With this expansion, the centre is now able to accommodate more patients at the facility. Additionally, we have provided essential equipment requested by the management of the health facility to enhance operations,” Tara Squire disclosed.
It was further stated that, alongside the commissioning, Ecobank has rolled out a one-week financial inclusion mass market campaign aimed at encouraging mothers attending antenatal and postnatal sessions to begin saving for the future of their children.
The bank’s goal is to provide access to simple financial services and tools that could help residents achieve financial independence.
The bank further reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing the well-being of Ghanaians, particularly women and children, through continued collaboration with stakeholders.
“We will continue to collaborate with all key stakeholders to uplift the lives of Ghanaians.”
“As we like to say, “One facility at a time, one community at a time” this is how we demonstrate our unwavering dedication to community development,” Mr. Squire concluded.
Ecobank also expressed gratitude to the management of the Dawhenya North CHPS Centre for granting them the opportunity to carry out the project, and to Asafoatse Gyebi II for releasing additional land that made the expansion possible.
