The Adenta Circuit Court has granted bail to Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, after he spent two weeks in police custody.
On January 15, 2026, the court admitted him to bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with two sureties, one of whom must provide verifiable security, including landed property or a vehicle.
Speaking to the media after the sitting, lead counsel for the accused, Emmanuel Sarfo, welcomed the decision, describing it as fair and consistent with the law.
“Thankfully the court has exercised its discretion because discretion must always be fair, reasonable and just.”
“He exercised it pursuant to our laws and admitted the accused to bail with any property, with a landed or vehicle amount of GHS100,000.”
Ebo Noah was remanded into police custody on January 1, 2026, following his arrest on December 31, 2025, for allegedly spreading false news with the intent to cause fear and panic.
His arrest came after public prophecies predicting a world-ending flood on Christmas Day failed to materialise.
During his first appearance before the Adenta Circuit Court, the presiding judge ordered that the accused undergo a psychiatric examination at a government medical facility to assess his mental condition.
The case has been adjourned to March 18, 2026, for further hearing.
