Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum officially declares intention to contest NPP flagbearership elections in 2026

Former Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has officially declared his intention to run for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearership elections.

According to the Member of Parliament for the Bosomtwe Constituency in the Ashanti Region, he would join the race once the party officially opens nominations.

“With humility, conviction, and a resolute heart, I, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, declare my intent to run for the flagbearership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), should nominations be officially opened by the party,” he stated in a viral video sighted by Newsdesksgh.com

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum urged Ghanaians to consider the work he did in the Education sector as a Deputy and a Minister in the last 8 years and give him the opportunity to lead the country as the President.

Meanwhile the opposition NPP, through its General Secretary Justin Koduah on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, announced that the party’s presidential primaries will be held on Saturday, 31st January 2026.
