Former General Manager of Nsoatreman FC, Eric Alagidede has said that there is no tangible benefits in winning the Ghana Premier League.
According to , Eric Alagidede, clubs like Nations FC shouldn’t concentrate all their attention and waste all their resources in the name of fighting for the Premier League title.
He said the clubs should focus on a business structure like Accra Lions and WAFA because there is nothing to be excited about winning the league.
“If I was Dr. Kwame Kyei, I will still play in the Premier League but focus my attention on a business structure. I will focus on winning my home games to be a mid-table team and stay in the league but there is nothing to be excited about winning the league.”
He added that clubs like Nation FC need to run a business model by using young players because they have re-sale value and that is the only way clubs can recoup their investments.
“Bring in a lot of young players because WAFA and others have proven that 16 and 17 year olds can play in the league so if you do your recruitments right and you get these guys in, you can spend about 2.5 million cedis to fund your season.”
“So by the end of the season, put two of them out there, rake in some $200,000 and you will be able to recoup the amount you have spent in the season. This is the only way I will run any other club I get because beyond putting young players out there, there is nothing in the Ghana Premier League,” Eric Alagidede added.
