Former Vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reportedly arranged all sureties for the release of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako widely known as Chairman Wontumi from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
Chairman Wontumi is under investigation by EOCO over alleged financial improprieties. While official details remain limited, the substantial bail figure was reportedly determined earlier this week as part of ongoing investigative procedures.
Despite being granted bail, Chairman Wontumi is still in EOCO’s custody as he is yet to pay the GHC50 million set for his bail.
Reports from known NPP communicators on social media suggests that former Vice President and 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia may personally visit EOCO to pay the GHC50 million bail set for Chairman Wontumi.
