Minortiy Leader, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin has said that Finance Minister, Dr. Ato Forson cannot be credited for the stability of the cedi against the dollar.
The cedi’s recent stability against the dollar has earned the government some praise in the media and on social media with many urging the Finance Minister to continue working hard to stabilize the cedi.
Afenyo-Markin while reacting to the cedi’s stability said the Finance Minister cannot be credited for it because the stability we are seeing is not because of any significant thing he has done.
The Efutu MP said the cedi is stable because the government is not spending and there is no liquid circulating in the country.
“The Cedi is stable not because Dr. Ato Forson is doing anything special at the Finance Ministry. It’s because government is not spending. No liquid is circulating in the economy.”
