Discussions centered on operational protocols aimed at preventing unrest similar to that which marred the Ablekuma North re-run.
This by-election comes after the passing of the former MP for Akwatia, Ernest Kumi, who represented the Akwatia constituency in Parliament from January 2025 until his death in July 2025.
