Adenta Kumi welcomed by NPP Bigwigs with Cheers and Party Songs at Party HQ after Release

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth Activist, Alfred Ababio Kumi, popularly known as Adenta Kumi has been granted bail by the National Security.

Adenta Kumi was arrested by a team of National Security operators in his house on the morning of Friday, May 23, 2025, and was charged with the publication of fake news.

He was granted bail after he was officially charged and the leadership of the NPP led by General Secretary Justin Koduah and Minority Leader Afenyo Markin took him to the party’s headquarters.

Adente Kumi was met with cheers at the party headquarters by some bigwigs in the NPP who was waiting for his arrival from the custody of National Security.

Adenta Kumi allegedly made a false claim on social media and in a radio interview regarding a petition he submitted to the President, calling for the dissolution of the committee probing the Chief Justice.

He alleged that on May 15, 2025, Justices Pwamang and Adibu-Asiedu, along with Justice Yonni Kulendi, met with lawyer Thaddeus Sory at Santoku Restaurant in Accra, to discuss the petition against suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkonoo
