The Adenta Circuit Court has remanded Evans Eshun, popularly known on social media as Ebo Noah, into police custody for two weeks and ordered a psychological assessment after he claimed that God instructed him to build arks to save humanity from an impending global flood.
According to the court, the assessment will determine Evans Eshun’s mental fitness to stand trial and guide the next steps in the case when it is adjourned to January 16, 2026.
Ebo Noah made his first court appearance on Friday, January 2, 2026, after he was picked up by police on December 31, 2025, for allegedly breaching provisions of the Public Order Act.
The court directed that he be referred to the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital for a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which is expected to assess his psychological state and capacity to understand and participate meaningfully in the proceedings.
Ebo Noah is accused of causing public fear and panic through repeated claims that a catastrophic global flood would occur on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025.
The prophecy, which gained widespread attention on social media, however failed to materialise.
Prosecutors told the court that the suspect’s pronouncements generated anxiety among sections of the public and disrupted public order, prompting his arrest.
Reports indicate that some followers allegedly sold their homes, properties, and other valuable assets after being led to believe that the world was coming to an end.
The case has been adjourned to January 16, 2026, pending the outcome of the psychiatric assessment.
