Here are the awards Ecobank won across Africa in 2025

Ecobank Group won multiple major international banking awards in 2025, earning recognition across Africa for excellence in trade finance, digital banking, SME support, cash management, capital markets and institutional performance.

According to the Group, the recognitions reflect its ability to connect African markets, facilitate trade and deliver integrated financial solutions at scale.

In a press release on December 30, 2025, the pan-African banking group said the awards were conferred by leading global and continental institutions, including Global Finance, Euromoney, African Banker, The Banker, the All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA) and Global Banking & Markets Africa Awards.

Among the top honours received, Global Finance named Ecobank Best Bank in Africa, Best Trade Finance Bank in Africa and Best Bank for Cash Management in Africa. Euromoney also awarded the Group Best Digital Bank in Africa, Best Bank for SMEs in Africa and Africa’s Best Cash Management Bank 2025.

Ecobank’s Isaac Kamuta was named Africa’s Transaction Banker of the Year 2025 by Euromoney, while Ecobank won AFAWA Bank of the Year at the African Banker Awards, Financial Institutions Bond Deal of the Year at the Global Banking & Markets Africa Awards, and Company of the Year at the All Africa Business Leaders Awards.

Ecobank noted that these awards highlight their leadership in trade finance and transaction banking, its support for small and medium-sized enterprises and women-led businesses, and its continued investment in digital platforms that improve access to finance across the continent.

The bank said the honours also acknowledge its innovation in capital markets, including the structuring of sustainability-linked financial instruments aimed at supporting inclusive and resilient economic growth in Africa.

Many Ecobank affiliates were also awarded for strong performance in their respective markets.

Global Finance named Ecobank the Best SME Bank in Ghana, Best Trade Finance Provider in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire and Rwanda, and Best Bank in both Gambia and Togo.

Meanwhile, The Banker awarded Bank of the Year 2025 titles to Ecobank affiliates in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea and Togo.

Group Chief Executive Officer of Ecobank, Jeremy Awori, said, “These awards are a powerful endorsement of our pan-African model and the progress we are making under our Growth, Transformation and Returns strategy. Receiving this recognition in our 40th anniversary year makes it especially meaningful. It speaks to the dedication of our teams across the continent and to a bank that has spent four decades building the financial infrastructure Africa needs to trade, grow, and compete. As we look ahead, we remain focused on building a technologically enabled, future-fit institution that continues to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients and for Africa.”
