University students of Tamale Technical clash with police during protest

Several students of the Tamale Technical University have sustained various degrees of injuries after a protest on campus escalated into a violent clash with police on Tuesday, September 16.

The students were demonstrating against the university’s management, accusing authorities of neglect, financial mismanagement, misappropriation of funds, and unjustified increments in school fees.

However, what began as a peaceful march quickly escalated into chaos when police moved in to disperse the crowd.

Videos circulating on social media captured chaotic scenes as police clashed with students. Police vehicles were stationed on campus, while fires burned in the background, indicating that some items had been set ablaze.
