The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim says all is set for the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, to relaunch National Sanitation Day
According to him, the National Sanitation Day will be re-introduced on September 16, 2025 at the Local Government Institute in Madina.
Speaking to journalists at a press conference today, the Minister stated that the Saturday sanitation day launch will take place across all 16 regions of Ghana.
This means that every first Saturday of the month will now be a National Sanitation Day.

The minister revealed that the ministry will establish a call centre where trained personnel will receive complaints and videos from the public to ensure proper and effective sanitation in the country.
To ensure the effective implementation of this initiative, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim added that motorbikes have been bought to patrol the streets.
