The camp of former Vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has received a major ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer elections after majority of the Minority MP’s in Parliament declared their support for him.
Out of the 88 NPP MPs currently in Parliament, over 60 of them have declared their support for Dr. Bawumia to lead the party to the 2028 Presidential elections.
In a video sighted by Newsdesksgh.com, the MPs who were seen singing stormed Dr. Bawumia’s voice to declare their support for him.
The delegation was led by former Finance Minister Mohammed Amin Adam, Offoase Ayiribi MP, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, and Sammi Awuku, a first time MP from the Akuapim North Constituency.
With four major contenders including Kennedy Agyapong, Bryan Acheampong, and Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the race for NPP flagbearer is heating up!
The NPP flagbearership election has been scheduled for January 31, 2026.
