The legal team of former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta has informed the Office of the Special Prosecutor and the Human Rights Court that he will not be able to appear before them on Monday, June 2, 2025, due to health reasons.
Ken Ofori-Atta’s legal team according to media reports have submitted medical documentation outlining the current health condition of the former Finance Minister and his upcoming surgical procedures.
The reports added that Ken Ofori-Atta after explaining the reasons for his absence requested a virtual session with the Office of the Special Prosecutor to answer all the questions.
This development has heightened speculation that Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng may reinstate Ofori-Atta on the list of wanted persons if he fails to comply with the scheduled appearance.
While an earlier statement from the OSP suggested such an action, the office has not yet confirmed its next steps.
Ofori-Atta is currently contesting his previous designation as a wanted person in the Human Rights Court, which is expected to rule on the matter on June 18, 2025.
