Michael Kpakpo Allotey on the morning of May 20 led an operation to restore orderliness and improve the sanitization of the city by removing street hawkers from trading on pavements and other designated arrest marked for pedestrians.
This initiative according to the Mayor forms part of a broader strategy aimed at restoring orderliness and improving sanitation in the capital city.
Ghanaians on social media were full of praise for the Mayor after a drone shot from Joy News showing the city after the decongestion exercise.
The netizens who reacted to the video and other videos of the decongestion exercise were impressed with the outlook of the city and hoped that it won’t be a one day exercise.
