Minority Caucus of the Energy Committee of Parliament has criticized the Minister of Energy, John Jinapor of constantly complaining about the problems in the sector despite given the power to solve them.

The Minority accused John Jinapor of prioritizing media headlines over resolving the persistent challenges facing the sector and has the tendency is crippling the economy.

The statement from the Minority sighted by Newsdeskgh.comes comes on the back of John Jinapor’s statement that the country has limited reserves of liquid fuel to power its thermal plants.

“His statements have not only instilled fear among Ghanaians but have also sent troubling signals to the business community. It is imperative that the Minister shifts his focus from public pronouncements to tangible actions that will resolve the ongoing issues plaguing our power sector.”

“It looks like our colleague the Minister of Energy, seems more interested in making headlines than keeping the lights on,” part of the statement read.
