Minority Leader, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin is currently trending on social media after hitting and insulting a police officer during the New Patriotic Party’s “Save The Judiciary” Demonstration in Accra on Monday, May 5, 2025.
In the viral video sighted by Newsdeskgh, the Member of Parliament for the Efutu Constituency in the Central Region was seen assaulting the police officer physically and also insulting him.
The video showed that Afenyo Markin was angry but it is not clear as to what led to his physical altercation with the police officer who was behind the barricade.
Afenyo Markin was held back by Richard Ahigbah, the Communications Director of the NPP who tried to pull him back and deescalate the situation.
The Police officer on the other hand didn’t not react to the physically and verbal assault by Minority Leader in Parliament.
