Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has ordered an investigation into the exclusion of eight students who were prevented from partaking in the Basic Education Certificate Education (BECE) after being involved in an accidents.
Eight students from the Nangbagu Yapala M/A JHS in the Northern Region were barred from writing the BECE by officials after sustaining various degrees of injuries following an accident.
Haruna Iddriusa who is also the Member of Parliament for Temale Central tasked the Ghana Education Service to urgently look into the matter and ensure accountability.
“There is a student who was involved in an accident and when he arrived late, he was prevented from writing the exams and it will be a double tragedy for him. He suffered emotional trauma and was also prevented from writing exams.”
“The Director General of GES and his men are investigating this and appropriate remedial actions will be taken to allow him progress,” Haruna Iddrisu said on Channel One TV on Monday, June 16, 2025.
